Sail Course – Details

Attention Sailing Enthusiasts!  Learn all about sailing with the Sail Course.  This is a complete sail course created to serve the needs of the novice and experienced sailor, as well as the non-sailor.  The course begins with basic boat designs and nomenclature, rigging, safety and sail processes.  The course proceeds into physical aspects of sailing forces and techniques, sail applications, marlinspike, navigation rules, helmsmanship and handling of more difficult sailing conditions, and an introduction to heavy weather sailing.

Dates & Cost:

  • 2024 dates pending (minimum 2-4 students) 
  • Twice a week for 4 weeks with exam in week 4
  • Tue & Fri  9:30 AM to 11:00 AM
  • Sail Course w/ Manual – $98 for USPS members
  • Sail Course no Manual – $43 for USPS members, for family members sharing a manual
  • Sail Course w/ Manual – $198 for non-members

Classes are held at the St. Joseph Parish Life Center (Classroom #38), 1300 SE 10th St., Stuart, FL. 34996. Heading East on 10th St., make a right turn at the 4th entrance just past the church.  Look for a grey painted building.  Classroom #38 is on the west (right) side of the building.
